A chocolate hit without the guilt? Look no further. Chocolate is my arch-nemesis. I can smash a block of Lindt salted caramel dark chocolate (or just a packet of Mint Slices) like nobody’s business. But right now I’m trying to minimise sugar whenever I can. However I still like the occasional treat after dinner or with a cup of tea for an afternoon pick-me-up. Enter these delicious morsels – the only sugar they contain is the natural sugar found in dates, and the raw cacao powder provides a serious chocolate hit. And all those seeds and nuts have got to be good for you, right?
A food processor will do the trick here too. This is a pretty forgiving recipe, so you can adjust the amounts or types of nuts/seeds used to your taste. Don’t reduce the quantity of dates too much as you need them to bind the balls together. If this is an issue, try adding a little water.
