Ta-da! What do you think of my new look?
I’m so excited to show you all the first of two major new projects I’ve been working on over the past few months – my new blog. The other project, still a work in progress, is my dream kitchen with a walk-in pantry, and best of all, a working oven and dishwasher (pop the Champagne!).
This time last year, I had begun to plan in earnest for the kitchen reno. I also knew that I wanted to start blogging. Although I didn’t realise it at the outset, both of these projects have gone on to define my year.
I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted in the kitchen (although there have still been 654780 decisions I’ve had to make, but I’ll save that for another post). But blogging was a whole new world, one that I’d dived into a couple of times before but couldn’t commit to. So I’ve spent all year learning, reading, and playing around with blogging and kitchen designs (and spending far too much time on Pinterest). It’s been fun, and it’s made me think about the direction my work is going to take.
It seems fateful that these two projects have ended up overlapping. It certainly wan’t my intention. But creating a kitchen that is the hub of my home, as well as a complementary online hub for my food and travel writing, are going to be hugely important in shaping my home and work life.
I’ve got big plans for Scribe & Spoon, and I want it to be both a place of food and travel inspiration, as well as accessible information and recipes. A balance between the achievable and the dreamable. I want to introduce you to some of the amazing writers, travellers, and foodies out there. I’m going to share tips and tricks for all those of you that love to write about food. In the medium to long term, a larger communications business and overseas gourmet tours are in my sights…
So. I’d love to hear your feedback. Nothing thrills me more than a comment or email – go on! And if you’ve got an interesting travel or food tale to share, please drop me a line. What sort of recipes and stories would you like to see?
